mission is to provide healthy, seasonal and local food to the community.
In time we plan to create a hub where growers and producers can join us for Soil Health Days and Compost Clinics to share and learn.

The photo does not show the actual quantities or which vegetables will be delivered and should be used only as a guide as our vegetables are seasonal and grown on-site, we do not use any external suppliers from Europe and beyond.
Lower Cock Ash Organics handles both celery and celeriac. Due to the packing process there is a risk of cross-contamination from these and other allergens.

Our Story
Jo and Clive began their journey to organic vegetable production in 2020 when they bought a one hectare small-holding in the Kent countryside at the foot of the North Downs.
Moving to Lower Cock Ash was the start of their plan – to develop a small-scale regenerative fruit and vegetable farm with the principles of growing delicious food and environmental stewardship at its heart. Lower Cock Ash is on a site that initially was unused pasture, the previous owner having no interest in cultivation.
We wanted to bring a 500 year old medieval house and it’s adjoining land, back to a point where it could flourish again.
Growing a diverse selection of fruit in our newly planted orchard and vegetables from our plot and poly-tunnel brings diversity to our produce.
We grow unusual varieties of tomatoes, aubergines and chillies in our polytunnel and our market garden there are many delicious varieties of beetroot, salad leaves, cabbage, broccoli, leeks, onions, garlic, a wide range of beans, pak choi, potatoes, butternut squash, bulb fennel, herbs, carrots and more.
Our orchard has apple varieties such as Catshead, Bramley, Egremont Russet, Spartan, along with many different varieties of pear, cherry, gage, plum, medlar and quince. We are hoping for our first harvest in 2025/6. Last year we had success growing Black Cherry, Orange Zebra, Reisetomate and Yellow Submarine varieties of tomatoes.
We are expanding on the choice this year with the addition of varieties such as Pink Titanium, Ozark Sunrise, Purple Marvel, Vintage Wine, Dwarf Arctic Rose, Pink Giant, Blue Bayou, Black Zebra, Amethyst Jewel, Biysk Rosean, Pepper Striped Yellow, Golden Canary, Pinkish and Tiger Paw.
We are aiming to make available a wide choice of edibles to inspire those that cook and to explore amazing flavours in their culinary adventures.
As with our tomatoes, we’re hoping to apply a similarly adventurous choice to our other produce, whilst not neglecting the staples upon which we all rely.
We shall be offering vegetable boxes as well as wholesale for the vibrant food cultures in Folkestone and Canterbury, as well as other restaurants in our area.
We hope that the specific and as far as we know, unique market garden that we’ve created will resonate with people who care about the quality of this produce and the environment.
A second strand to our offering is our passion for soil health.
This year, we will be hosting Soil Health Days, Compost Clinics and workshops.
Believing there is no separation between what we eat, the soil it’s grown in, and sharing the understanding of this amazing process is key for us.
We hope that the quality of our produce will naturally open up those routes to a deeper understanding of why chemical-free is so important for us and the planet.
